Dmitriieva O.I., Shvets O.I., - Organizational principles of the Kamianets-Podilskyi educational and rehabilitation center work: history and modernity

Academic interests are the following: legal ducation of pupils with hearing impairment, psychological and pedagogical maintenance of children with hearing impairment in terms of special and inclusive schools, the usage of sign language in the process of education and development of children with hearing impairment. The article analyzes the organizational foundations of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Educational and Rehabilitation Center of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council as one of the powerful institutions of general secondary education for children with psychophysical developmental disorders in Podillia, and provides a brief overview of the history of the institution. The main tasks of the institution at the initial stage of functioning are defined: creation of the most favorable educational and rehabilitation space for the development of children, formation of a socially adapted and comprehensively productive individual; providing conditions for restoring children's health; medical, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation of children with psychophysical disorders; creation of a  system of graduated education in order to provide conditions for quality continuous educational training; creation of a single rehabilitation and developmental space from the very young age. The purpose of the modern Kamianets-Podilskyi ERC is presented: realization of the right to education of children with special educational needs caused by complex developmental disorders, their integration into society through the implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation measures aimed at restoring health, obtaining education of the appropriate level, development and correction of psychophysical developmental disorders. The material, technical and human resources of the institution, which contribute to its effective operation, are considered: 94% of the Center's teachers have special education; the Center is provided with the equipment needed by children with various psychophysical developmental disorders, including a lift, special-purpose furniture for students with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, sensory corners in classrooms for people with autism spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; kinesiological cabin "SPIDER" with elements of suspension therapy for loading the musculoskeletal system in zero gravity to increase muscle strength, restore the range of motion and normalize tone, etc. The contingent of the Center's pupils, its structural units, the specifics of the formation of classes (groups); ways to implement the correctional and developmental component of the curriculum of educational programs depending on the category of psychophysical development disorders are presented. It has been found that the rehabilitation department of the Center provides measures of psychological, pedagogical and social rehabilitation (adaptation), as well as rehabilitation actions, which involve the introduction of a set of measures that create the prerequisites for students to master the system of knowledge and competencies, the use of which will contribute to further personal development (improving educational level, the ability to live and work independently (if possible), organize everyday life, adequate planning of independent life).
