The article presents the results of an empirical study of natural and environmental competence in senior preschool children with general underdevelopment of speech. The experimental methodology adapted by the authors, based on the qualimetric approach to assessing the development of preschool children in the field of natural and environmental knowledge, the Environmental Knowledge Interview (Muraoka), the CATES-PV scale for assessing preschool children's attitudes towards the environment (Musser, Diamond), was used. The criteria for determining the levels of formation of natural and environmental knowledge, ideas and attitudes towards the environment in preschool children with generalized underdevelopment of speech are revealed; a comparative analysis of the natural and environmental development of older preschoolers with generalized underdevelopment of speech and with typical development is carried out. It is established that children with generalized speech impairment have disorders in mastering natural and environmental concepts, which is manifested in both lexical and nominative difficulties and semantic and conceptual ones; impaired understanding of the relationship between the economical use and conservation of natural resources, unformed value attitude to nature.
