The article discusses the application of methods that promote the auditory development of children with hearing loss. The attention is focused on two interrelated measures: medical, in particular, surgical cochlear implanting and advanced hearing aids, and defectological - habilitation and rehabilitation of children with hearing impairments.  The importance of developing non-communicative communication skills in children at the preparatory stage, prior to implant placement, was noted. The importance of different methods of auditory rehabilitation and their use in correctional development work is considered.
It was indicated the importance of developing non-verbal precommunicative skills in children during the preparatory phase. The methods of further development of auditory perception in the correction- and developmenttraining with the defectologist are considered, namely the development of the ability to localize a sound in space, to recognize it among a set of other noises, to distinguish one from two or three sounds, to imitate or to reproduce a certain sound.
The importance of the interaction between parents, a child and other participants of the rehabilitation process is noted. It is covered the aspects of the development of auditory perception and speech through the interacting of a child with parents in everyday situations, doing of household chores, manipulating household utensils, social integrating, recognizing household noises, non-speech sounds, human language. The main method of auditory-verbal development is an oral verbotonic method, which considers the formation of the speech processing through the development of movement, rhythm, tact (phonetic rhythmic). Music lessons with the child are the major component throughout the process. The publication shows the possibility of developing children by cochlear implantation, which allows them to hear the world, to understand the language of people, to learn to speak their own, to develop in the society.
