Sarancha I.G. - Training program for combating violence in the families of disabled people

The article analyzes the current state of the state protection of disabled people concerning counteraction and protection against violence. The basic legal documents regulating responsibility for acts of violence and the main types of violence are considered. As the result of the analysis of the theoretical base, the training program for combating violence against disabled people in families of disabled people was developed. The program is aimed at the disabled people who wish to prove themselves as coaches for peer-to-peer trainings. This training program consists of a main module that contains general aspects of the issue of violence and the basics of training. The main module consists of three parts: • The theoretical part includes texts on separate topics for coaches, links to international documents, articles by researchers.
• The practical part includes exercises for each topic.
• The handouts are designed specifically for use by participants during practical training exercises. These materials provide information and instructions necessary to perform the exercises.
It is concluded that in Ukraine insufficient attention is paid to educational activities on combating violence against disabled people in the families of disabled people and involving disabled people in the training activities.
