The process of educational logopedic practice of students-speech therapists of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after
A. S. Makarenko is based on the mass and special pre-school educational establishments, mass and special secondary schools, as well as medical institutions and rehabilitation institutions of Sumy city, where positions of teachers of logopedic groups and teacher-speech therapists are organized. The process of educational practice begins with a fact-finding conference; further, for four weeks, the passive work on the training bases continues; the practice ends with a conference where students present their reports. Primary acquaintance with professional bases enables student teachers to: enrich and improve the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge and skills through real immersion into the future profession; to get acquainted with
 pedagogical staff and groups of children with special educational needs, in particular, with children-logopaths; to study the list and the contents of the document circulation on the bases of the designated institutions; to familiarize and analyze the peculiarities of the system of logocorrection process (specifics of techniques, methods and means; stages of logocorrection) carried out by speech therapists, educators, defectologists, psychologists, primary school
teachers, oligo, audio- and typhlopedagogues for children with speech impairment of primary and secondary genesis.
Providing with information on the use of innovative educational, nonstandard methods and tools for working with children of the specified category, as well as acquaintance of students with this innovation during the reporting process of student trainees are particularly important. Speakers also emphasize on positive impressions from personal and professional communication with
specialists of educational bases, from contact with speech impaired children, because with the permission of speech therapists, educators, psychologists, students are not limited to passive observation, but have the opportunity to conduct routine moments, exercises of the preparatory stage of speech therapy, fragments of subgroup and individual classes and other types of corrective work.
